Horchata is the Spanish name for a variety of grain, nut, and spice-based beverages. Irresistibly sweet and delicious, this recipe is the perfect refreshment to tickle your tastebuds!
- ⅓ cup cooked rice
- 2 tablespoons raw, unsalted cashews
- 1 tablespoon agave, or maple syrup
- ½ teaspoon cinnamon
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 ¼ cups water
- Cinnamon stick, to garnish
Add all ingredients (except the cinnamon stick) to your Nutr machine. Run through one "Room Temp" cycle and strain as desired. If your horchata is still a bit grainy, run through the strainer again. Depending on how fully cooked your rice is, you may need to strain more than once. Pour over ice, garnish with cinnamon stick, and enjoy!
